POTUS Has Left The Building .... Well, almost

I arrived in the fair town... or is it city of College Park, MD at night. It was hot, and I mean hot. Up to this point on this trip, I have been asking myself why did I ever choose the height of summer to head out. That questions seriously came up as I got to College Park. This stop was a bit of a family reunion, and a pretty short term one at that being that I had seen my brother barely a month ago. In fact, some of the planning of the trip was done here during my earlier visit.

The drive in from Detroit earlier in the day wasn't too bad... that is if you don't count the earth shattering, mind numbing, wheel bending bump I hit on my way out of Detroit. I thought the car was going to split in two. And this was on the fast lane! I later found out it left a mark by way of a bend in my front right wheel... ugh!

Anyway... back to Maryland. I was there for a couple of days in the sweltering heat of a very hot and humid summer. Every time you came out the door, it was like someone hit you in the face with a HOT stick! BAM! It was a heat smack down. From Maryland, me next main stop was to be Richmond, VA then on to Atlanta, GA. However, before leaving the Maryland area, I figured I should pay out out-going POTUS (That's President of The United States to you) a visit.

For some reason, he never responded to my lunch invitation, I guess Anthony Bourdain has more juice than I do... Humph! I found out later that the Prez was busy on the campaign trail or something like that; apparently he wasn't in town. I am sure this is why he was not available for lunch.

Washington DC is an interesting city, it always has been for me. If I am not getting lost at one of the major intersections or one way streets, then I am taking a wrong turn off a roundabout (or should I say traffic circle), and then the next thing I know, I am either in Virginia, Maryland or somewhere like that. In case you are wondering, it often takes me about half an hour or so of self denial to realize I am lost. That is enough time to make it into another state from Washington, DC.

While I am in DC, I then play a game of spot the politician or spot the secret service agent. Sometimes, they all kind of look alike.... okay, maybe not the politicians. :) It is easy to tell you are in a very important place, everyone in uniform has a serious, don't mess with me or you will go to jail for life look on their faces. I unfortunately did not have a lot of time to spend in the Nation's Capital on this visit..... anyway... it was too hot! I mean the weather people! Just the weather!

I unfortunately wasn't able to spend too much time in Washington D.C. on this visit, however here is a short video of my time there.
